SIDAM, a company with an important mission: to bring historic buildings back to life through sustainable renovations and an artistic touch in the fitting out of interior spaces.
SIDAM was born out of the Mazzolini family’s more than 50 years of consolidated experience in the field of industrial furniture and workspace design, within the renowned Bologna-based company Tecnotelai. The inheritance of knowledge and skills acquired from this activity, which has given great satisfaction to its founder, Daniele Mazzolini, since its beginnings, provided the basis for the creation of a new company into which the properties that were being acquired could be merged.
Founded with solid foundations and with the aim of providing space for the storage of goods that Tecnotelai distributes nationwide on a prompt delivery basis, SIDAM has evolved to its current status with the arrival of the founder’s young daughter, architect Silvia Mazzolini, on the board and her innovative vision in the field of building redevelopment and monument restoration. The main objective was therefore to enhance the artistic-architectural heritage in our territory, with a special focus on ancient buildings. Using all his knowledge and experience in bio-architecture and Feng-Shui, the architect has therefore directed the parent company’s investments towards antique buildings, restoring their ancient glory in order to host in the future in their spaces those functions that contemporary society needs.
Since the beginning of this century, SIDAM has been committed to renovation projects that respect the essence and soul of buildings, enhance the spirit of places (genius loci) while adapting spaces to the needs of modern life. Interior design becomes a tool through which to combine tradition and innovation, creating environments that are characterised by their functionality, aesthetics and sustainability.
From private residences to commercial spaces, from art galleries to shops and offices, the renovations bear witness to Silvia Mazzolini’s commitment to transform existing buildings into places of inspiration and pure beauty. The philosophy behind the SIDAM project is that architecture can shape the way we live and work, nourishing well-being and creativity in every environment through harmonious shapes and strong colours.
Silvia Mazzolini
Architect, planner and interior designer, I graduated from the University of Florence with a specialisation in bio-architecture and Feng Shui. After a few years as a freelancer, I became director of the family business in November 2008. The strong desire to break into foreign markets and take the company into unexplored fields led me to found the Unica brand, born from the alchemic relationship between myself and art director Fabrizio Rocchi.
